Do you know about Swirl? Not the vanilla/chocolate ice cream cones you used to eat as a kid, but the fantastic organization that supports and celebrates people of mixed-race heritage.

Their website says they are: "a national multi-ethnic organization that challenges society's notions of race through community building, education, and action."

If you haven't checked them out yet you should. They are at Swirl Inc..

In an effort to promote love and not war, this magazine editor turned activist has decided to send Mr. Bardwell a Christmas card from 100 mixed and happy families on December 15. In case you haven't heard about the case, Bardwell claimed he wouldn't marry the couple because he worried that any children born to them would be troubled. Puh-lease!

So please take a moment and visit MixedandHappy.com and show some support. Maybe we should send him some of our shirts too!

Do you think viewers will make anything of the fact the fact that these two train-wreck families happen to be interracial families when they evaluate all of the ridiculousness going on in their homes? Or will the race of the family members just be a non-issue? Is the American viewing public able to look past race?

Maybe a month ago I might have said yes, but then after that hullabaloo in New Orleans, where a certain justice of the peace refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple, I'm not so sure. Many people still think there is something inherently wrong with people of different races marrying and raising a family. They think it can't work. That's it's wrong somehow. I know. Crazy right?

Well, what do you think? Will people judge these families through the prism of race or not? Let's hear it?

Mixie Monday - A New Mixie Supermodel is born

The word is out that supermodel and Project Runway star Heidi Klum has given birth to her fourth child. Congrats to the whole family!

And we both were thrilled to see Chris Noth aka Sex and the City's Mr. Big, finally make an honest woman out of his baby's mama/girlfriend/former employee/actress (yeah there's a lot of headlines to be made there), Tara Wilson.

And is it just us, or were you secretly kind of psyched that Mr. Big is marrying a beautiful Black woman and not a Carrie look-alike?

Here's to happy, mixie endings. If you want the full scoop, read the People Magazine article here.

That's precisely why we tried to co-opt the phrase for our shirts. Turn it around and give the power back to the people who are usually assaulted by the question. We don't if it works, but we hope so.

But we do recognize that there are times when we just have to ask, we need to know what somebody's mix is. So how do you ask the question without being offensive? Is there a better way to ask, "What are you?" Here's some options we've heard:

1. What's Your Mix?

2. What's Your Blend?

3. How hyphenated are you?

Why don't you tell us your best and/or worst versions of this question.
